Irony in Africa

Prior to heading to Africa, I didn't feel like writing, yet had the resources. Now that I am in Tanzania, I want to write more than ever, yet it is extremely difficult. It just took 26 minutes for this page to load at the internet cafe in downtown Dar es Salaam, so I am down to two minutes of time. Half of me wants to throw this computer across the room. The other half of me wants to dedicate the rest of my life to helping Africa catch up to the rest of the world.

I am living in a village at a place with no electricity or running water. I shower with a bucket. I fall asleep to chirping crickets and wake up to roosters. It is very simple, and very peaceful. I have been here four days and want to tell about so much.

I will write more when I can.
